A new one for Our Big Backyard.

My grandmother was a big fan of Irises.  She started a bed of them in our yard and I tend it every year. She's been gone for quite awhile now but every year when they bloom, we are reminded of her and her love of gardening.

Napa Valley ~ The Grape Collection

Living in the Napa Valley is one aspect of my life that I really enjoy.

Now that my family is raised I have time to explore.

Photographing the vineyards during the year fascinates me to no end.

I'll grab my camera and head out for an hour or two after work

sometimes tasting the wine from the vineyard I just shot.

Observing the changes throughout the growing season,

like the variety of shapes and colors from the leaves to the fruit is amazing.

It's simply wonderful to be able to return to a vineyard

 to shoot it again and again,
each time capturing different images.

Beginnings

I'm just figuring this whole blog thing out. Wanted to have another avenue for showing my work. Not sure how often, or if, I'll post again but thought I'd give it a shot.
Like I said, I'm not a professional photographer
but seem to have an eye for capturing things through my Nikon SLR.
I can't imagine my life without a camera.
